WELCOME

The challenges and opportunities of diversity are at the heart of the European project and European schools are increasingly expected to be able to deal with diversity-related issues.
The course “Inside out / Outside in - Building bridges in teacher education through encounters with diversity” addresses the question of diversity in the European classrooms by improving the provision of intercultural competence and understanding in pre- and in-service teacher education.

Within the Erasmus+ programme, university teachers from eight European countries and different disciplines organise a 10-day interdisciplinary course for European teacher students.

INOUT TOPICS:
  • INSIGHTS FOR OUTSIDERS

  • DROPOUT, LEARNING & SCHOOLS

  • MOVING THROUGH EDUCATIONAL SPACES & PLACES

"This programme really helped me to reflect my life in Finland and also after my return to Taiwan. Especially in my class I practiced what I have learned. This August, I got a chance to be a 'visiting teacher' in a remote area in northern Taiwan. It is very interesting that my role between the non-academic subject teacher and the foreign teacher hired by the city government is like a bridge. All in all, I do expect my life to follow the spirits of InOut theory."

"The program has left a lasting mark on me in my way thinking and of teaching. It was a completely new learning experience. All of the methods I was introduced to became essential tools of my own teaching; all participants learned from each other. For me as person I took with me, that intercultural awareness is not consistent. It is a whole living process, because intercultural awareness changes day by day."
